Kathleen in LV
I'm going to be starting this study shortly with my ds5, and I'm looking for recommendations for short storybooks/picture books that deal with archaeology and/or nomads. Thanks in advance! Kathleen
fenni
There are recommendations in the activity guide. I highly recommend it if you didn't get it. I love it!
Five More Minutes
There are recommendations in the activity guide. I highly recommend it if you didn't get it. I love it! :iagree: Off the top of my head, I remember us enjoying Archaeologists Dig for Clues; You Wouldn't Want to Be a Mammoth Hunter; and The First Dog. ChiknGirl
We've just started Ancients and this week we read The Best Book of Early People. Amazon link. Both my kids enjoyed it.
Ritsumei
We got some great ones on AG suggestions, and in general love the AG. So far, Monkey's loving the activities. We did the cuneiform tablet today; the hieroglyph scroll is on the plan for tomorrow, and I think he's going to get a kick out of the activity where you compare the longevity of the two of them. :D He loves the Archaeologists Dig For Clues book that someone else mentioned. We read and re-read that one a lot for a while there. Enough that I was glad when it stopped being a favorite!
Kirch
I definitely agree with the AG recommendations. In addition to a couple that have already been mentioned, we liked Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura.
NittanyJen
The suggestions in the History Odyssey curriculum are terrific. They include the Archaeologists Dig for Clues, and of course Ug, the boy in search of soft pants (he has stone pants and doesn't like them! Such a cute book!). I am pretty sure Magic Schoolbus has an archaeology book out as well.
