celticmom
I occaisionally play a free online role-playing game. My dd6 will turn 7 fairly soon and I am thinking about letting her spend a limited amount of time playing something similiar that is age appropriate as part of her birthday present. What I would like to know is if there are any sites that any of you would reccomend and why? Also are there any sites that I should avoid? Garga
I don't know about role playing, but poptropica.com is free and loads of fun. On each "island" there are tasks to do. Like, maybe you start off needing to open a locked door, so you'll have to wander around until you find someone with a key. (That's not really what happens in the game, but it's that kind of game--finding items and then using them.) My kids LOVE it. Plus, you can make your own little person--their color/style hair, clothes, etc. and change them as you play if you want to.
celticmom
Thanks, that is similiar to what you do in a role-playing game.
NanceXToo
I was going to suggest poptropica as well. You could also do Wizard 101, Pixie Hollow, or Webkinz.
