Jeannie in NJ
my dd did fine with TT alg 1 and 2 and she wants to spend this coming year on Trig. How is TT pr-calculus . I will not be able to help her with this. So any opinions of this course. Math is dd's best subject. also what about the graphing calculator that she would need? Susan C.
You can call TT for help. I don't know if they charge, we did precalc. the year they only had the book and no CDs, so phone help was free. A few times the person had to call back after he took time to review the concept since it was more difficult. If you like the TT format, it should be fine. We didn't like the format with the constant review. It was too much to learn about trig, then have to review logs and functions at the same time. kiana
Has she had geometry? Trig will use and apply geometric knowledge ... and you mentioned only Alg 1 and 2.
Jeannie in NJ
she took geometry at local public high school in 9th grade (her only year in public school). SHe did TT alg 1 in 8th grade homeschool and TT alg 2 last year for 10th grade homeschool.
Leonor
Have you sent creekland a pm? Her sons used TT and did quite well. She is always very helpful.
kiana
I would finish the TT sequence and then decide where you want to go next. Changing mid-sequence is more likely to leave gaps (this is especially true for TT, as their scope and sequence is slightly nonstandard). Is this the daughter about to begin dual enrollment at the CC? If so, I'd finish TT precalc and then take the CC placement test and take further mathematics there.
