suppleasthewind
We are going to make family trees this week. I think I might draw a tree, get together with the grandparents to help put names in, then have boys copy it to make their own. I think it will be a good geography lesson (finding where ancestors came from on map), writing lesson (when they write the names in) and art lesson (hopefuly they will put effort into drawing trees). Any more ideas to flesh out this project?
Bang!Zoom!
If you have some idea of a ethnic line or regional area, maybe make up some snacks or dishes that reflect the family lineage culture. Some music, clothing, holidays, things like that.
chepyl
I got a free family tree book on currclick.com. It has lots of places to fill in information and add pictures. It also has leafs to cut out to create a larger tree to hang on the wall or whatever you want to do. I don't think we will do the whole thing, DS is almost 6 and not a big writer, but we will of some of it.
