Renthead Mommy
So at dinner tonight my 9yo was listening to our conversation about Social Security and aked what it was. His father explained SS, but mentioned government debt in his explanation. Here's the rest of the conversation. 9yo: Wait, what's government 'deb-it'? Dad: Debt. 9yo: Okay what's government debt? Dad: It's when the government spends more money then they actually have. 9yo: Well THAT'S stupid!! At least my 4th grader has that figured out! LOL! happypamama
LOL! The kids sure have it right -- too bad Washington doesn't. Along those lines, my 9yo wants to know why the economy is bad, why we buy things from other countries instead of making them here ourselves, etc. So I'm trying to explain it to her as best as I can, and her answer is: "Well, why doesn't the government DO something about it?" Now, if only the greedy, bloodsucking politicians could understand it.
