jayb842
I'm about to pull my little boy out of public school. He was in a lab setting for speech last year. The school therapist wanted to write an IEP on him at the beginning of this school year. We are addressing the speech issues in a private setting. He is about 6 months from being done. Do I need to say anything about the speech issue and how it's being addressed in the withdraw letter? We are in the state of Texas. Thanks, Jennifer
wapiti
No. If there is an issue with not using the services under the IEP, they might send a form for your signature. I withdrew my kids from a PS special ed preschool program when they were under an IEP, and I don't recall doing anything. They weren't exactly trying to convince us to stay - we were costing them $. choirfarm
I was in the exact same situation. i live in Texas and pulled him out after 3rd grade. I did not mention it at all in my withdrawal letter. I didn't think he needed any more speech anyway. Christine
