Just Robyn
I'm thinking about going with Chalkdust for math starting in grade 6. I looked at some samples and the available courses and I really like it. However, it is SOOOO expensive!! Wow! Those of you who use Chalkdust, how do you make yourself feel better about the cost? I'm still working my way through the posts. At first I was thinking, "But there's no sample video. I have no idea what the teacher in these videos is like." Then as I read, I saw that it's the same guy. This is such a relief. Thank you!! (And another ty to all the people in the threads that were linked to.:))
karensk
It's about the same price as outsourcing the class at a homeschool co-op, except that I can reuse Chalkdust with the younger child. Someone else presents the lessons, explaining all the details so that I don't have to! Love that! It's saving me a lot of time since I don't have to prepare the lessons. I only have to quickly preview the topic, decide on how much work to assign and then grade the homework. HTH!

Yeah, but when you can pick up the exact same texts and videos for only a fraction of the price and still reuse them, that's even better! lisabees
Dana Mosley has online videos - same exact ones as Chalkdust. DS used them last year. Maybe that is a good alternative for you. http://coolmathguy.com/online-math-help
