....
Sure! We're also studying US History this year, so keep that in mind. Literature: Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH Island of the Blue Dolphins My Side of the Mountain The Search for Delicious The Whipping Boy Trumpet of the Swan Historical Reading: Indian Legends Bears on Hemlock Mountain (she read this already and was offended that I suggested it - oops) A Lion to Guard Us Matchlock Gun The Cabin Faced West The Courage of Sarah Noble Sarah Whitcher's Story Phoebe the Spy Sarah Plain and Tall I also plan to have her read through a Shakespearean play this year, but I am completely clueless on what we'll do. Edited to say: I forgot to list Read-Alouds. Our Read-Alouds are basically US History - we read Sign of the Beaver, Pedro's Journal, Paddle to the Sea, etc. I would also like to get to Jungle Book, Arabian Nights and something King Arthur...I think those are all suggestions I gathered from TWTM.
