KungFuPanda
Any novel ideas for taking advantage of the heat? Solar ovens? Frying eggs outside? Baking cookies in your car? How do we USE this extreme weather to do something we can't do ordinarily?
Cindyg
I was going to say, duh, cook an egg outside; but you already thought of that, so I won't say duh. :) We did that last summer. And it is really hot here. The egg did not cook on a white sidewalk, and it made a nasty mess. It did cook in a black pan with a glass lid. Cooked easily and quickly. Have fun! (Make sure you crack open the windows a little.)
Margo out of lurking
We made a solar oven a few days ago using online directions. Instead of a pizza box, we used an amazon box. We didn't have black construction paper, so we used dark blue, and then slid a glass pyrex pan into the box. The day was terribly overcast; ds did not put the dogs in until 5:30! So we are bbqed dogs. I told him to take the dogs out of the oven at 8:30, and they were steaming hot! He and his friend ate them, plain and with their fingers in the front yard at sundown. Not perfect but definitely fun!
