Spalding Attributes of Quality Literature

Not a list of books. I want further explanation of the method and how to apply it. Generic worksheets that could be used with any book would be great. There are graphic organizers in a parent binder supplied during training?

There is mention of some McCall books. Do any of them list the five attributes and explain them?

Okay, after hours of research, what I want to know–I think–is included in the McCall-Crabbs User's Guides B-E. I guess maybe I should buy the D and E workbooks, for examples.

I see that I can purchase this through Spalding. Anywhere else?

Bumping this OLD question.

There are a few book reports there that give some ideas.

Five Spalding Attributes of Quality Literature

Precise Language – the author clearly describes the people, animals, places, and events (and uses lots of adjectives and adverbs)

Emotional Appeal – the author’s descriptions make us feel a certain way. Examples of emotions (how we feel): happy, sad, angry, sorry, proud, etc.

Content – the writing gives scientific, historical, geographical or other types of information.

Insight – the writing helps us understand different people and why they do what they do.

Universality – the writing is interesting and enjoyable for all kinds of different people.

I think some of the Spalding Literature might be from the Journey through Bookland guide.
