grace'smom
I'm visiting my neice this week and I'd like to get her a couple books. She's in her senior year of high school, not great with money, and doesn't seem to have a firm understanding about the reality of life after high school/college. She's grown up in a wealthy area and has been given many things by her grandparents, but they won't be able to support her in the manner to which she is accustomed after high school. Anyone have any ideas about good, interesting books that might help prepare her for being on her own?
Ottakee
How about any of the Dave Ramsey stuff for finance? Problem is, she might not be ready to accept/follow that advice right now if she is used to a higher level lifestyle.
grace'smom
Does he have books specifically for teens? I saw something on here a while back about teens and budgeting books, but I can't find it now and I can't remember what the titles were... T'smom
He does have stuff targeted at teens. But I'm not 100% sure if it's a book or a curriculum.....the youth group at our church is doing it right now. Even though it's not finance, I would highly recommend 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teenagers.
6packofun
This one is pretty neat. It describes skills needed for 4 stages after high school and the student receives "paychecks" that they need to manage: http://walch.com/Whats-Next-A-Simulation-of-Adult-Life-Stages.html
