opekoe
I'm looking for a poem/saying for my kids, something along the lines of the duties/responsibilities of a child/student. Not exactly rules or anything restrictive, just something inspiring. I might want to use it as a motto. I haven't been able to find anything through Google... any ideas? dkholland
I have a little hardbacked bookk called Divine and Moral songs for Children by Rev. Isaac Watts. It is filled with poems about not lying, being responsible, not fighting with your siblings. They are really cute and I love to pull it out and quote one at my dss! There is a good one called the Sluggard. Maybe you can find it online...if not pm me and I will send it to you.

katilac
One of my favorites (author unknown): Work while you work, Play while you play, This is the way To be happy each day. All that you do, Do with your might, Things done by half Are never done right.
Mallory
If you've got boys, maybe this will work- A LITTLE BROTHER FOLLOWS ME A careful boy I want to be; a little brother follows me. I do not dare to go astray for fear he'll go the self-same way. I cannot once escape his eyes; whate'er he see me do, he tries. Like me he says he's going to be- that little brother following me. He thinks that I am good and fine; believes in every word of mine. The bad in me he must not see- that little brother following me. I must remember as I go through summer's sun and winter's snow I'm building for the years to be that little brother following me. ~~ Author Unknown ~~
