amo_mea_filiis.
He is starting VT soon and will have at least 5-6 months of VT. Ds is very hyper and impulsive, so the Dr wasn't really able to talk much. I left knowing of the convergence issue and that he was slightly far sighted. It's possible he explained more, but I had to keep tabs on ds.

Dobela
20/20-1 OD, 20/20-2 OS at distance and 20/20 OD, OS at near ... smooth persuit deficiency smooth pursuit is what allows the eye to follow objects saccadic eye movement deficiency Saccades are quick, simultaneous movements of both eyes in the same direction. It works with the smooth pursuit as a form of tracking. convergence insufficiency an inability of eyes to turn towards each other, symptoms include blurred vision, difficulty sustaining near-visual function, abnormal fatigue with intermitten diplopia double vision and supression this means that the brain is chosing to ignore the input from one eye , a large exophoria a tendency of the eyes to deviate outward , and accommodative infacility an inability to quickly adjust focus when looking from near to far, far to near, or both. It is often noticed when looking up after a long period of reading or computer work and finding it difficult to focus on objects across the room. Eye strain, copying problems, and headaches are other symptoms. Some researchers feel this condition, if untreated, can lead to the development of nearsightedness. and general binocular insufficiency just means again that the eyes are not working together. Can someone pretty please translate this for me? :D Hope this helps. A lot of words were used but they essentially mean that the eyes are not operating together or tracking properly causing the brain to get mixed signals. Because they are not working together the brain may be starting to prefer one eye over another, your child can be having other symptoms such as blurred vision, fatigue, headaches.... Thank you for the translations! I knew the basics of tracking and focusing problems, but was looking for exactly what you posted. :D
