The workbooks are very self explanatory for a child, so if DD didn't understand it I could easily read the instructions on her page and understand what to do, even if I had never heard of what they were teaching before. Starting in 4th (I think that's when the answers aren't in the guide anymore) I'm going to buy the answer keys and skip the guide. - I could take the time to read through it all to check things and figure it out, but it is SO much faster having the answers in the guide (which is cheaper than the answer keys).
