wy_kid_wrangler04
What would YOU recommend for a special needs dc? Apples and Pears or AAS? I am planning on switching dd who will be in 4th to AAS and my now 5 year old ds will start that next year in K but I am wondering what would be better for ds who will be in 1st grade. He has HFA, SPD, SID, his eyes do not track together and a few other issues but I believe that is basically the only things that affect his learning. Oh, and his NVIQ is terrible. Very very low. His VIQ is much higher. Thanks for your input!
Ottakee
I have not used (or even seen) AAS but I LOVED Apples and Pears spelling. You can easily do 1/2 level (or even less) a day if needed. It moves slowly and provides a lot of practice---along with no rules to learn or extra stuff to mess with---just spelling.
