I've recently been trying to get my act together and plan better (in theory this should make my life simpler?) and I found the following great resource with both free downloadable calendars and directly printable calendars. They even have a class schedule template and "School Event" calendar. The site has far more examples than just the academic calendars I've linked so they may work well for Home Journals, Student Planners and such too. Please see the bottom "vertex" link.
