Mallorie
Do you have a good tutorial that you follow? Did you like the results? What am I getting myself into? :001_huh:
mommaduck
Yes, I have. My girls loved them! And there is more than one way. 1. you could cut the jeans right above the crotch and sew gathered cotton material to it (denim top part, cotton/floral skirt...even add eyelet to the hem ;) ). http://applehead.typepad.com/applehead/2006/06/how_to_make_jea.html 2. http://textiles4you.blogspot.com/2010/02/turn-your-jeans-into-long-skirt.html (and there are different variations on this)
Murmer
So I just did this to my one of my dd's pants. I used this tutorial http://stitch7.com/?p=751. I used fabric in the middle and had to change the back a bit...my gal has a booty that needed a little extra room. It turned out adorable and perfect fit! Mommy22alyns
I've done a skirt for me and one for Sylvia. I used 2 pairs of jeans for each, so we got long skirts. I'm still figuring things out and trying to finish my second skirt, but Sylvia adores hers. Goodwill is great for jeans.
