cin
I dropped my girls off at gramma's yesterday and spent the afternoon browsing Half Priced Books, with copies of the reading lists/texts I want for the next 4 years. I was So excited to find Speilvogel's Wester Civilization for a mere $9.98! Then, I got home and did some more research and realized that it is the 4th edition. Apparently, the newest edition is number 7, and costs $145.xx on Amazon. I'm wondering if there's that much difference, except for maybe the last few chapters? I can get another history book (for less than $145) to teach the 20th century world history.
elegantlion
I have an older edition that I plan to use. I doubt much has changed. I found mine for dirt cheap as well.
MamaT
I have the 4th edition. I've used it the last three years with my son who is now a Junior. I've used it since my oldest was in hs. He is almost 25 now! I just picked up another book at my used book store that looks like it will do the job of covering up to present.
