Haiku
 My DH (who didn't read the books) kept asking what a cakesniffer was. To me, the best part of the cake-sniffer thing (aside from the voice he uses in the audio recording when he says it) is that he never really tells us what a cake-sniffer is; it's just what that obnoxious little twerp calls them. And even though it really makes no sense, you KNOW it's an insult of the highest degree! :D Tara
Desert Rat
It was entertainment. My kids enjoyed the dark, quirky story line. It's really not more or less than that. For the same reason. We also adore Roald Dahl, Eoin Colfer, D.J. MacHale. I love murder mysteries and dark tales myself. I understand it's not everyone's cuppa, but we love them. Cinder
When my crew sees a little girl acting particularly nasty in public they say, "A tap-dancing ballerina fairy princess veterinarian" !! Cakesniffers! Ooh, I forgot about the Cakesniffers! And how we used to drink aqueous martinis. They're so IiiiiN! :D
