Halcyon
I really like both my Usborne and my Kingfisher World History books, so I'm torn as to which of the Geography encyclopedias we should purchase. Unfortunately my library carries neither; I am going to B&N this weekend to see if they have copies I can browse through. Does anyone have either (or preferably both!) of these and can tell me about them? foxbridgeacademy
We have the Usborne only, so I can't compare, but we really like it. There's a huge section on the more sciency aspect of Geog, what I consider Earth Science. Then a lot of info on different World cultures. We don't use the Maps from it much, but only because I have a wonderful book called Atlas of World History (from Harper Collins) as well as many other map books and wall maps(yes I am a map junkie). It is very similar in style to the Usborne WH (my favorite) and Usborne Science Encyclopedia (least favorite of the 3). I just really like Usbornes layout, and love the internet links.
