Capt_Uhura
Someone mentioned Julie Bogart's Help for High School. I had forgotten about that! Now I'm curious. Has anyone here used it? Can you tell me more about it? I need another writing program like I need a hole in my head. Thanks, Capt Uhura

Just thanking you for being the first one to make me giggle this early in the morning. :grouphug:
MerryAtHope
You might want to ask on the HS board. I have it on my shelf (bought a rare hard copy of it at a convention last year) but have only glanced through it--I'll probably look at it more thoroughly this summer or next (I don't think we're quite ready for it next year). It's written to the student, I remember that! Merry :-)
Capt_Uhura
Thanks! I was more curious. I checked the high school board and didn't see much. I like her perspective so it's tempting!

1Togo
Capt, We used Help for High School with both of our sons. One did it in a class with Julie and the other with me at home. It teaches traditional documented essays, but Julie takes the student through exercises to connect with their topic and an exploratory essay first. Both of our guys enjoyed it. P.S. It does include freewriting, but the freewriting is refined.
Capt_Uhura
Thanks 1ToGo! I'm going to make a list of all my writing programs and resources and write down what each one offers me.
MerryAtHope
I like her perspective so it's tempting! I know what you mean! (obviously, since I bought it last year when my oldest was only in 7th!).
