jewel7123
I am looking for a geography workbook for 1st grade next year, and I came across this: Down To Earth Geography by Ruth Foster Has anyone here used this and can recommend it (or not)? Also, if anyone has used both Down to Earth AND Daily Geography Practice by Sandi Johnston I'd love to get a comparison between the two. Thanks! Dinsfamily
We've been using Down to Earth this year and I am looking for something else after we finish. Ds6 likes the book but it isn't focusing on what I'd like it to. It is based on the 18 national standards and picks out random information from each one. I'd like something more systematic and foundational. We used Evan Moor's Beginning Geography last year and it was perfect. I haven't found a good follow-up yet. ladydusk
My daughter has been using Evan Moore's Beginning Geography (we started January 10) and it is going well so far. She does this as part of her independent work and has done very well so far (what 5 pages?)

So you aren't considering Daily Geography Practice, also by Evan Moor? Just curious as to why......
Dinsfamily
So you aren't considering Daily Geography Practice, also by Evan Moor? Just curious as to why...... It doesn't contain much world geography as far as I can tell. We're studying world history for the next two years and I'd like to keep our geography studies on the same page.
