Miss Marple
Sorry about the formatting below. It didn't paste the same as it was copied. Hannah C.
I was rather surprised my major (history) wasn't on there. That being said, a lot of those are various education-related majors -- and at least around here, while you may not be getting paid a whole lot of money for your job, you will at least have a good chance of *getting* a job with a teaching certificate. Gwen in VA
Interesting. I get a kick out of the fact (according to a friend -- I haven't researched this) that philosophy is the highest paying underagraduate major -- because so many philosophy majors go on to law school! distancia
Wow, this is surprising. I thought Psychology would be on that list. That is the #1 undergrad degree granted in the nation, and the least useful at that level. And where the heck is Theatre? Why is that not on the list? Maybe all the Theatre majors are waiting tables and earning good money doing that! I thought for sure my D's choice of major, Anthropology, would be on that list. After all, what can you do with a B.A major in Anthro? Thank goodness she has decided to minor in Biology and take a bunch of Chem and Math courses, too! After all, what can you do with a B.A major in Anthro? I have my BA in Cultural Anthropology, and went on to get an M.S. in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. It's not a seemingly 'useful' degree, I'll grant you that. But it exposed me hugely to the world's cultures and in turn, to non-Western medicine. Who knows were her degree will lead? State Department, Peace Corps, international aid work...all these and more come to mind :) Congratulations!
