Michelle in AL
For those who have worked recently or are working now, which takes more energy, working or homeschooling? I'm about to apply for my masters next week to be a nurse practitioner. I need to do this for several reasons, but I wonder how my life will change. I won't begin working until the kids are in college, so I'll have no children, just hubby, but I'll still have to clean and shop. Hopefully, dh will share cooking. Last weekend I was exhausted from just cleaning, grocery shopping, going to church and prepping for school this week. But I still have kids at home. It made me wonder if I'll really be able to handle working. Please don't throw stones if I sound spoiled. I do work now, but it's only 15 hrs/week and it's from home. LunaLee
Working takes more physical energy, and homeschooling takes more of my mental energy- Unless it's back to school season and then working is more mental & physical.
DawnM
Working takes more energy for me, hands down. Not to mention that the house stuff is still here and needing to be tended to when I get home from work. I have been a SAHM for 5 years now. Some days I really miss working. NanceXToo
Working took more energy for me than homeschooling does (although when I was a SAHM and my son was a toddler I might have said otherwise. He's a bit easier now that he's 5 lol).
Tutor
Sometimes the answer depends on the day for me, but generally homeschooling takes more work (especially now that high school is on the horizon) than work does for me. I look at my work as a break from my regular job of homeschooling... of course, I often take my work to the coffee shop with me, so that may color my perception a bit. :D
