Guest KaciMI
Dual Enrolling is wonderful, but home school families must pay for books. DD has had 7 classes and we had to buy new editions for five of them. She has Human Development next term. She needs 'Human Development' James W. Vander Zanden, 9th edition. I found the 7th edition for $2.00. I'm wondering if we can get away with using it? This book is paperback and the new one is hardcover. I know that colleges are trying to bring in hard covers, as they last longer in renting. We can't rent the new book, for some reason it isn't available as a rental. Any advice? I would contact the professor and ask him/her if the older version would do the job.

It might be worth a try to find out. GardenMom
kiana
Ask the professor. It's almost totally up to him.
FloridaLisa
I would contact the professor and ask him/her if the older version would do the job. This is what my oldest has done in several classes to avoid buying the newest, most expensive version. He also recommends contacting someone in the class right now and asking to buy their book after the semester. You can put it on Craigslist, put out the word or wait for folks coming out of class. :001_smile: Lisa
regentrude
Contact the professor and ask. I have a statement on my course websites that the older editions are fine for the reading, but that students need access to a current edition to find the correct homework problems (that does not mean they have to own it).
