bethben
Does anybody use this? I just saw that it has tutorials for ALL the lessons in the book. It's used in public schools, but is it a good Algebra course for a young algebra student? Beth
Jann in TX
This is a current trend in PS and in College texts. I use Holt 2009 Geometry with my online classes and there are also free online tutorials by the main author (Dr Burger of Thinkwell). The Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 texts also have this service (videos are in same format as the traditional Thinkwell ones). One thing about PS math texts is that they are VISUALLY busy-- they pack all sorts of extra/distracting information and sub topics---it can be a lot to wade through. With the Holt texts you really need the TE and the supplements in order to organize a complete program--the practice in the book is not quite enough--add in some of the supplemental worksheets and it becomes a strong program.
