LAmom
Came across this on an old blog. Anyone recognize it? http://ordinarymother.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/dsc_03452.jpg

specialmama
You are most welcome. And... yes and yes. :001_smile: I was frustrated a bit when my dd was in grade 4 because her writing naturally goes straight up and this program's (as well as my own) writing has a slant to it. But I learned to lighten up and as long as someone can read her writing then it's fine. As for the program itself it's good. No need for the teacher's manual. Seriously. I didn't listen and I went and bought it because it's the same manual from K-6 and I only used it 3 times during the first month. You know, the "oooo more new books" thing, then that quickly wore off. The student workbook is all you need and some serious discipline on mom's part to be there and correct any errors early on. Don't let it be your break time. Errors in handwriting become habits very quickly and far too easily and of course, so hard to fix. Just my 2 cents. But it is a great program, great verses, and the pull out at the end of the week will be treasured. I have them on my fridge and many have been laminated and presented to the grandparents for Christmas presents. Would I get this program again if I had a younger student? Yes I would. Will it change your life and ensure great sleep? Probably not. :001_smile:
Tylianna
I love this program, too! All my children use it.
Michelle My Bell
A Reason for Handwriting is nice, but expensive ($12.95 each workbook and the TM is $15.95). May I suggest instead to look into Pentime Handwriting. It is wonderful! Rainbow Resource sells it for $5.25 (no TM needed) and it is Biblically based like A Reason. I also like how it teaches something every other page. One of our books was all about birds. Very Charlotte Mason. Here are a few samples: Edited October 31, 2010 by Michelle My Bell
LAmom
Thanks Michelle for that suggestion. I will look into it. Does that one cursive book have ALL the states? We are doing MFW Adv. and that would go along nicely with it. :) Another choice...oh boy.
