*~Tina~*
Switching from Saxon to Teaching Textbooks at the Pre-Algebra level for a child who struggles with math. . .anyone done this? I'd love to hear firsthand experience and any significant differences between the two. We've been solid Saxon user's for several years and I'm leary of changing, but I want to give the thought due consideration with your help :) Blessings, ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ .·´ -:¦:-Tina ~ -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´* http://seasonsoflearning.blogspot.com/

specialmama
Coming from a TT user here... what is your dc struggling with? Is there not enough explaining in Saxon? How are the actual grades? Is Saxon "broken"? If it's still working, then I'd stick with it. If math has become a war zone or crying zone or seriously harming your dc's vision of their abilities/math skills, then TT can rescue the day, complete with cape and spandex tights. Have you shown your dc the samples of TT?
HollyDay
Dd just moved from Saxon 76 to TT7 so she is a bit younger than your dc. Did you take the placement test for TT? TT does run about a year "behind" Saxon. That is one reason I'm using it. Dd is a very young 6th grader and she needs the extra time to solidify the math before moving ahead.
