praisefor3
We are thinking of going to Colorado for 4 or 5 days in mid-October. We'd like to stay in one place and hike around some. The eastern side would be closer to us but I also used to live around Gunnison so am familiar with that area. We don't want a "luxury" cabin but not a dump either. Anybody know of any place to suggest?
Laura Corin
I don't know if this is the right area for you, but we stayed at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park and the cabins were fine. Laura
livingnlearning
I'm not sure if these are too "rustic" for what you're thinking but some of the FS cabins are really nice and they're not at all expensive. We use them all the time in the summer. www.recreation.gov and one I found on a quick search: http://www.recreation.gov/camping/Silesca_Cabin_Co/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=93668&topTabIndex=CampingSpot Enjoy! CO is beautiful this time of year!
KuniMom
I second the YMCA. Beautiful area, lots of hiking, and Estes Park is a lot of fun if you want to do some stuff in town.
