Alessandra
Amazon is so frustrating -- I can "look inside", but only at the introduction, glossary and index of a guide, not at the actual rock/mineral id pages. I need a guide that is a step up from the Golden Guide, and I want rocks as well as minerals. Any ideas/recommendations?
Luckymama
The DK/Smithsonian Handbooks Rocks and Minerals is our favorite. We started using it a few years ago (on a big national parks trip), when the kids were early teens and 6ish. Perfect for the older kids and us, tricky then for youngest because of the descriptive terms. She was good with the basic information and the pictures, though. Now she drags the book all over the place!
Guest Alte Veste Academy
The DK/Smithsonian Handbooks Rocks and Minerals is our favorite. :iagree: I finally decided on this one (after looking at them all, I think!) and we love it. Alessandra
Thank you -- it looks good (well, at least the part Amazon shows ), and it has rocks as well as minerals. With two people saying such good things about it.... I'll give it try. THX!
