HappyGrace
I know how it would be in French (ill air) but what is the common way in English-is it like the girl's name "Hillary"? Thanks! (we have one of his poem's for ds's memory work this week)
emcap
I always heard it Hill-air from my teachers - if that helps any
abbeyej
He was French/English, so I think you can say it with or without the "h" sound.

HappyGrace
wow, I have used that site for pronunciation before too but didn't realize they had names-that's great! Thanks!
NoPlaceLikeHome
wow, I have used that site for pronunciation before too but didn't realize they had names-that's great! Thanks! The tricky thing is that when I searched for his full name, the ask jeeves came up with no pronunciation so I learned that it is better to just plug in the last name or possibly the first in some cases:).
