LisaKinVA
And eliminated cable from our budget. Now, if I could just find someone who would trade my ready-to-build lot for a down payment on a house... or a house with a decent mortgage, I'd be ecstatic! ....
You can do it! We have cable, but we b a r e l y watch it. We only have one TV in the house and it's in a back bedroom. Think of all the money you're saving! Dave Ramsey would be proud. :D And, it's $1 to get a movie at Redbox. If you rent a movie 3x a week, that's still only $12 a month - a LOT cheaper than cable. LisaKinVA
We did not give up Netflix :D Just cable. Using Hulu and Netflix should be enough...this gives us the money for our YMCA membership (swimming). Maybe I'll get a little more sleep? hahaha! Guest ME-Mommy
Welcome to the "No Cable Club"... :) LOL We discontinued ours back in March or April -- and honestly, we don't miss it at all.
NoPlaceLikeHome
We have no cable/satellite as well. We gave that up a couple of years ago and have not missed it. We still have Netflix though and frequent the library:D
gingersmom
I love love being cable free!! The best part is my daughter has been reading soooo much and has rediscovered all kinds of interests that were long dormant. We also have netflix on the wii that I rarely watch. Hulu is my new cable box.
BikeBookBread
Woo Hoo! Welcome to the cable-free club! I don't miss it one bit. We have a digital antenna on our roof that gets "1980's" stations, plus Netflix via mail and streaming.
KatieJ
Can you watch Hulu on your TV the same way you can Netflix? Is it free? If youcan use your Wii, same as Netflix, do you have to get a disc? How soon can you watch TV shows? Same day? Same week?
Punchie
We gave up cable several years ago and love it! We will never get it again. We have Netflix, and DD has a bunch of dvd's, but the tv is off a lot more than it used to be.
Alenee
Yay for you! We got rid of cable three years ago when we moved and it's been a good thing. We don't watch nearly as much tv and neither do the kids. And since our programs are limited, I'm not always having to pre-watch things to find out if it's appropriate for the kids.
