I can't answer your question, but we must be on the same 'track'. We just finished Johnny Tremain and are now reading Mr. Bowditch, too.

:)

Ginger

Us too!! Weird! Maybe spring is just a good American Revolution time of year ;)

Looking forward to a real answer... LOL!!

I'd like a literature guide with maps to use with this novel. I just finished 'Johnny Tremain' and was disappointed that the Progeny Press guide did not have maps.

Experiences???

Thank you,

Penny

We just finished Carry on. I thought the PP guide was good, but there was no map work. It included mostly, vocab work, comprehension questions, a bit of analysis (forshadowing) and a section called Digging Deeper.

This one appears to have a mapping exercise:

A woman on the sonlight website says,

I enjoyed tracking all his voyages on my huge world map
-- so I guess she just used a map and tracked it herself.

Plus, I just found this sample from LLATL which includes a mapping exercise -- it's free!

Here's another free resource:

This is an old post, but I found it because I was searching for maps for the Progeny Press guide to Johnny Tremain.

Thought I'd post a few links that helped a bit:

Fish Street and Hancock's Wharf shown on this map: http://historygallery.com/maps/NorthAmericaMaps/1775Boston.htm

Older map 1723, shows a larger area but Hancock's Wharf is not labeled as such:

http://maps.bpl.org/id/11122

Also note that "Fish Street" as "Fifh Street" -- the "f" is that colonial "long s".

Hope this helps someone else - it was a bother to hunt them down :001_smile:
