Night Elf
When I was in high school, I had a work-study that counted as an elective. Basically, I left school one hour early each day to go to work. There were no other requirements, just a signed note each week from my boss initialing my hours worked. Do they do this anymore? Can this be worked into an elective, whether half or full credit? Would you consider adding anything else? Can I add some some of career planning test and/or paper and call it something important sounding? Unfortunately, dd18 has no other activity besides sleeping and working. :)
distancia
Yes, my daughter did this through her public high school last year. When she did it on an unpaid basis it was noted on her transcript as "Internship-International Business" (she worked at a travel agency). She actually received one full college credit, if you can believe it, as well as a h/s credit. When she worked for a salary it was noted as "Work/Study:Early Childhood Development" (she was a babysitter at a private health club nursery). She received a .5 h/s credit, general elective. Corraleno
This thread has lots of possible resources for career aptitude testing (one of Lori D's many fabulous resource lists!), and this might be also be helpful. Could you call it Career Explorations? That title seems to be used a lot, and I think Jenn said it is a required course in CA?
