Mama Lynx
Now, I know this is very variable. But I'm curious - those of you who have done WTM-style anciencts, how long did you end up spending on the Iliad? Or the Odyssey?
stephanier.1765
The Great Books website (http://www.thegreatbooks.com/) spends 3.5 weeks on the Iliad and 3.5 weeks on the Odyssey so I'm going to use that as my measuring stick. If we spend a little more or a little less that's fine, but like you I wanted a general idea of how long it should take.
LatinTea
You might want to look at this article. It is a 'practical approach' for studying The Iliad. http://www.yale.edu/ynhti/curriculum/units/1984/2/84.02.09.x.html Be sure to scroll down to the listing of chapters that are must reads. It does slim down the challenge a bit, but I'm hoping this will help keep my dd on schedule. :)
