MotherSisterTeacher
Salvete! The Spring Arts Festival hosted by our co-op fast approaches, and I'm soliciting performance suggestions for my elementary-age class. We already performed two chants and a couple of prayers during the Christmas program. I only have a short time to pull this together, and I'm not sure how many kids will be available on performance night. But if someone has a stunning suggestion, I'd love to hear it! :) Blessings, Stacy
Jean in Newcastle
I know that Latina Christiana has some songs (Dona Nobis Pacem is one). I can't remember if Prima Latina has any?? Could they do a chant while jumping rope? (I remember someone - Doug Wilson I think- writing about this and it has stuck with me as a neat idea! pixelroper
Something from Lingua Angelica would be smashing...
MotherSisterTeacher
Thanks, Ladies. For our Christmas program, we sang two from LA and recited two prayers. The kids made me proud. :) The jumping rope while chanting idea sounds interesting.... Stacy

I'm pretty sure that Old MacDonald is on Sandra Boynton's Grunt CD. From Wikipedia: A Latin translation appears in Mary Mapes Dodge's When life is young (1894): Mica, mica, parva stella, Miror quaenam sis tam bella. Super terra in caelo, Alba gemma splendido. Mica, mica, parva stella, Miror quaenam sis tam bella.
Stacey in MA
Here's a link to some songs translated to Latin. Perhaps something else on this web site might help. Maybe doing a Minimus skit? I haven't used Minimus at all (we use Prima Latina for DS9), but a friend uses it and likes it. GL! Let us know what you come up with.... - Stacey in MA
MotherSisterTeacher
Thanks for the suggestions. However, I didn't receive the link??? Can you please post again? Blessings, Stacy
Stacey in MA
http://www.minimus-etc.co.uk/Songs_page1.htm I'm pasting this in. I think it should show in this message, though I've never tried to paste a link. Maybe there is some special way to do it? We'll see... :-)

MotherSisterTeacher
Thanks so much. This is very helpful. I wish our skill level was a little more advanced--some of these plays would be fun! Does anyone know of an on-line resource that offers audio pronunciations? Valete, Stacy
