Murphy101
http://www.hewitthomeschooling.com/book/bsingle.asp?i=1892 Can anyone tell me if this is a worthy tool? It's only $8, so I'm wondering how many pages and how much info it gives? The description sure sounds like a bargain. TIA
Guest Kirsten06
My son used this syllabus last year and I thought it offered a lot of good projects plus an extensive reading list for historical fiction. We did not use the Streams of Civilization textbook, though, so it was a bit harder to fit the topics to our own reading. He may have gotten more out of it with the proper text, but we had our book already and needed something of high school level for him to do. He really enjoyed the book reviews assigned each quarter because the list of choices included so many greast picks. Hope that helps you some, Kirsten
Yolanda in Mass
I purchased the US history syllabus and the $6 were well spent. There are excellent suggestions for activities, papers, projects, etc. I, too, didn't use the required texts. You can use the ideas with any curriculum. Murphy101
Oh that's great and thanks for chiming in ladies! I appreciate it! I am going to order the lightning lit Speech course bc the book is recommended. Then I saw that syllabus and, as I'm compiling materials for world history and already making a purchase, I thought I might risk the $8. Ug. If you give a mom a book recommendation for historical speeches, she might find...
