sadiegirl
In your opinion....which president in history was your favorite to learn about...what qualities made them stand out as great. My son is doing a report on great presidents and we are wondering aside from the obvious great ones if there is one that we have missed! Jenny in Atl
Lincolon or Jefferson. They both were somehow larger than life.
Old Dominion Heather
A few... (leaving out the greats, which I assume you will study regardless: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, FDR, Kennedy, Reagan) Woodrow Wilson... his mom went to college with him to take care of him. Richard Nixon... He was president when I was born. Taft... He was so large. James Madison... because of Dolly. Theodore Roosevelt... because of the teddy bear. Andrew Jackson... He was from TN and the Washington people thought he was backwoodsy. Have fun!
Linda in NM
My personal favorite? FDR--and Eleanor! The presidents' wives, from Abigail Adams on, have always fascinated me...
kRenee
Teddy Roosevelt - Panama Canal and National Parks.
mcconnellboys
I agree! In our reading about him, I found Roosevelt to be a very complex person.

terrylee
I would have to say Abraham Lincoln. I recently read a book about him and was amazed at his intelligence. But more importantly, (IMHO), is that he was a very Godly man. Terrylee
Musical Belle
My dc feel a real connection with Lincoln because we have visited Springfield, IL, several times and have seen many of the Lincoln sites there. After a visit, my dd (age 4 or 5 then) saw Lincoln on the $5 bill and said, "Hey, we know him!" :001_smile: My ds has a special attachment to Teddy Roosevelt because of their shared love of nature and history. It's also a bit serendipitous that they also have the same birthday!
