nikhen
Our 6 year old read the Ill. Classic one in one day-LOVED it. :)
Jyniffrec
I like the Stepping Stones version, but we own both. I think my ds9 has only read the Stepping Stones. He is a slow reader so I think the Great Illustrated Classics version seemed daunting to him.
michelle l
My boys, 8 and 10, have read three GIC books and LOVED them. I was completely shocked -- just had never thought of suggesting the books before. DS 8 read The Three Musketeers, and and the end he said, "Wow mom, that was a really good book. I'd read it again!" He has never, EVER, said anything like that about a book. DS 10 felt the same way about Robinson Crusoe, and was actually disappointed when we couldn't find it to pack for vacation as he planned to read it for the second time while traveling. These are boys who don't like to read. :001_huh:

MamaT
My kids read the GICs over and over when they were younger. I highly recommend any of them.
LinzluvsGJ
I have a huge set of them and find them great even for younger kids if reading aloud because of the pictures. They're great for early readers, though, IMO!
Colleen in SEVA
Well, I haven't read either one (or any adult version either :blushing:), but Lydia is doing Three Musketeers next semester and co-op using the Usborne version for ages 6-8 and unabridged for 9-12.
