fairfarmhand
I got a watercolor set for Mother's day. Anyone know of a good way to learn how to use it? I've painted with acrylics before, but I know watercolors are a different world
Catwoman
One of the best ways to get started in watercolor painting, without spending a fortune on books or videos, is to visit a website called WetCanvas.com, and go to the Watercolor section. "The Learning Zone" would probably be the best forum for you to visit first, and then "Palette Talk." Here's a link to The Learning Zone, to get you started: http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=152 It's a wonderful forum, and the members are incredibly supportive and helpful, and they are particularly kind to newcomers, so there's no need to be shy about asking questions. Is there anything specific that you'd like to learn to paint? I have painted in watercolor for years, so I can probably point you to some great instructional books (possibly available at your local library,) as well as to lots of free online video demonstrations. I'd love to hear more about your new watercolor set! Cat
