Hedgehogs4
I posted pictures of my children's completed lapbooks on this thread today. That can give you an idea of what simple ones look like. Basically, we took information that the children already had learned (recently) and put together mini "books" that are then glued into a file-folder which has been refolded into a tri-fold. There is a book out there on lapbooking put out by Tobin's lab. My kids both loved doing it and have said they want to do another one soon. It was a very good learning experience for us all, and it was great to see how much my ds8 had retained, what his level of interest was, how willing he was to do research for the topic. overall, it was a very successful project that we look forward to doing again. 5LittleMonkeys
You can google lapbooks and find tons of info on them. Here are some sites that have free ones. http://www.homeschoolhelperonline.com/lapbooks.htm http://www.homeschoolshare.com/lapbooking_resources.php We usually do ours in 3 prong folders though. They are easier to store on a bookshelf and my dc like to add to them too. More like a scrapbook. Here are some pics.
Chris in VA
Think of it as a visual outline of what has been learned, contained in neat little books that have a section for each bit of information.
