DD's Keyboard not working correctly, need help

So, dd can't type now, anytime she presses a letter it opens help, or file search, or something else. What did she do, and how does she fix it? TIA

Sounds like her control (CTRL) is stuck.

 

(This might have a different name on a Mac. What is she using?)

She is using a PC.

Did you try pressing and releasing the Ctrl key on her keyboard?

Sounds like there might be something stuck in there.

If pressing it, releasing it and checking it doesn't work you can normally pop off keys to get under them and clean.

If your not comfortable with that then vacuuming, or using canned air to try to get it out can be tried also.

Yay, the alt key was stuck. I plan on getting her a flexible keyboard so that her crumbs and such aren't an issue any more, but I just keep putting it off. Anyway, problem solved. Thanks for the input.

If it ever gets stuck and you can't get it out, you can try and run it in the dishwasher. Put it in an empty dishwasher with no soap or dishes. Run it through a cycle. It may ruin it or it may save it, but at least you have a chance that it will save it.

 

I have a friend who was the head IT guy for a huge company. They would do this all the time and it saved a lot of keyboards.
