Osmosis Mom
My college student dd took her brother ds 11 in t see it and despite the bad reviews then they were crying with laughter. Not sure of anything else except they had a grand time!
jld
Thanks, OM. I don't know if it will come to India or not. I hope so, since it does look like a hoot! Ds11 really wants to see it. Btw, aren't you up early?!
Osmosis Mom
LOL!! Yes, I have been awake since forever and now I got dressed and am ready to rock 'n roll (sort of). All due to ds 2's leaking diaper....
jade
The movie was fun, but rather sad. It didn't make middle school look very pleasant. My son said it followed the book relatively well. There are a few new characters to help the plot development. I liked the way the film incorporated animated illustrations. the production values aren't as high as say a Disney film, but that was fine here. Kids will probably like it. Eleni
We saw it last weekend...and mind you, we have not read the book. That said...my husband and I laughed so hard it hurt! My kids were cracking up and my 9.5 yo laughed so hard he couldnt laugh quietly. :001_huh: My husband said he wants to buy it on dvd to watch it again, and that now our kids will probably never want to go to school. We found it portrayed our experience in middle school rather well...and it captured the awkwardness well too.

Love2Smile
I am the one who wants to see it in our house! LOL, my kids don't!
jentancalann
Very funny, indeed!
jonnia
My husband and son saw it and both thought it was hilarious, even though hubby says that it pretty much nailed his own middle school experience.
Lilymax
I haven't seen the movie (sons and DH did, though), but DS has read me excerpts from the books and they were hilarious!
Tree House Academy
eh. The kids liked it. I thought it was a little boring and predictable. However, I am pretty sure I wasn't in the targeted audience age anyway. LOL My older son really liked it the most. My younger son became obsessed with the "cheese touch" and actually lost a night of sleep thinking about it. :001_huh::confused:
funschooler5
We liked it, and my older two have read all of the books several times. I've read the first one, and the movie really captured the "flavor" of the books. Also, the star of the movie reminds me of Fred Savage. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was the preview of the Beezus and Ramona movie. It looks like they added a whole romance storyline with Beezus (have they even read the books?!), and the cast is bunch of Disney Channel regulars. Bleh.
