bethben
Is there such a thing as a dictation book that has passages that get progressively harder? I know I can take dictation out of their reading, but I know it will happen more often if I have a book we can go through. I'd rather not have a workbook - just a little nice book... I am sure you would be able to find something for free from Google books or one of the other free sites.
Kuovonne
How about Spelling Wisdom or the Spelling Plus Dictation Resource Book?
Poke Salad Annie
What about Dictation Day by Day by Kate Van Wagenen? There are several books in the series, and probably all can be found at google books. You could print them on booklet setting if you desire, saving a bit a paper, or just read from the computer screen for a freebie.
Medieval Mom
Delightful Dictation plus Spelling. If you don't want a workbook for the student, just get the Instructor's Guide. It starts out with passage 3 words long ("Haste makes waste.") and ends with passages 20 words long.
