Just Me
I am trying to plan a get-away for my dh and myself. I want to go for about 3 or 4 days, and don't really want to spend too much more than $600 or so. Any ideas? Places you love? We can go the The Cove in Asheville, but activities may be limited. Thanks for your input!
Oak Knoll Mom
I just saw this--what types of things are you interested in? Hiking, biking, art galleries?

Thanks for your input! Well, would you prefer the mountains or beach. Central...where? We spent several years going to Fox Den Cottages in Sylva, close to Dillsboro. LOVE IT! For $600, you may get 4 nights. It comes FULLY equipped. There are truly like little cabins, 3 seperate ones. They overlook the Smokey Mtns. Add food. Visit the Cherokee Museum, Forgot the name of the Dome near Cherokee, etc. Hiking is free, etc. The beach this time of year would be good, but may be a drive for you. bookfiend
This time of year you can get a whole house on the oceanfront, check Craigslists (the Raleigh listings) and this company http://www.treasurerealty.com/rentals/rentalindex.htm Also, lots of little towns in the Piedmont have darling B&B's. I would ask for a discounted rate because of the time of year.
