Granny_Weatherwax
DS and I are analyzing Paul Revere's Ride using MCT's Poetry and Humanity book. It is going well. We write the stanzas on a large whiteboard and use different colored dry erase markers for the different elements. Green was used to determine meter and type of feet. Red was used for rhyme scheme. Blue was used to circle things like assonance/consonance, etc. We even crossed out and rewrote some of the words to see how word choice changes the meaning and feel of the poem. The whole poem loses it's feeling when "midnight ride" is replaced with 'nightime jaunt". :001_smile:
