scrapbabe
I can't decide between these two for a 5th and 7th grader. Any insights? Both struggle with writing. I need something pick up and go, not teacher intensive. I had IEW but I needed more hand holding. It just didn't fit for us. I want something IEW-ish but with more direction and more straight forward. Smiles, Shalynn Edited February 26, 2010 by scrapbabe
JaneP
:bigear: I can't give any advice... just curious because I have been considering these two programs for when my dc are older. What else are you using for their Language arts ?
scrapbabe
We will be using Winston Grammar, Megawords (7th grader) and All About Spelling (5th grader), also Lightning Lit. Smiles, Shalynn
bethben
I'm wondering this exact same thing. I can't do IEW...it doesn't mesh with me as a teacher. Beth
cougarmom4
I don't know about those two programs, but wanted to mention Jump In. We had great success with this last year in 6th grade.
Mommy7
I have not actually used MC, but from all I have read and samples I have seen, it could be your answer. It is described as being IEW-ish, but very step by step and easier to implement. (I am planning to use MC next year for those very reasons)
