SonshineLearner
Anyone have great ideas for what to do with a group of kids... for the layers?? :-) Thanks!! Carrie
Karen in CO
I've made several types, but the ones the kids have liked best have all been edible. There are directions here, about halfway down the page. http://www.amnh.org/ology/index.php?channel=earth#channel

You found it! I looked for this link when I first saw this thread and could not find it. DC LOVED the edible earth (except dd5 doesn't like Rice Crispies treats :001_huh::confused: so she just ate the crust).
Jennefer@SSA
Yes, we did the edible earth just a few weeks ago and all my dc loved it. They keep asking to do it again!!! :) Great project.
Lorax
It's also fun to do this with pizza - crust for the crust, 2 different colors of cheese for the mantle and outer core, and tomato, pepperoni, or something like that for the inner core. The kids I did this with loved it and definitely remember the concept.
JaniceO
We did the pizza one (my 4th grader and my preschooler) and they loved it! They even made their brothers tell them the layers in order when they got home from school before they would share a piece, lol.
