Mama Lynx
I've seen their syllabi/course plans. I'd like to know what their study guides are like. Can anyone give me a rundown?
Mama Lynx
Bump Are they strictly comprehension questions?

Mama Lynx
Pretty much. I liked them, but they are not indepth. Thanks. I'm trying to figure out if they're must-haves, if I'm going to follow Kolbe's syllabus for lit and history, or if they're just nice extras. OLG
We've done the four years of Kolbe high school without using a single study guide. The course plans are very detailed and include questions that I found sufficient for discussions most of the time. The Study Guides do help those students who are working completely on their own and are taking the Kolbe exams from what I have heard from other Kolbe parents. The questions on the exams are all covered in the study guides! Personally, they were not worth the money for us. HTH! Mary
MicheleinMN
I don't care for the study guides as they are of the *Read and Regurgitate* type of comprehension questions. They do help the students memorize what will be on the Kolbe tests, but don't really really add any analysis type study to the program.
