Hannah
We have a 'history club' with 2 other families and meet once a week to do the activities. The moms share the responsibility for preparation. Meeting up keeps everyone accountable and because we all have different craft skills the kids benefit from everyone's different talents. I also put in a lot more effort for a group of children than I would for just one. Each family does the mapwork, suggested additional reading and narrations at home. Joining other families has meant that we are going at a much slower pace as other people's schedules have 'messed' with our history club afternoons. We initially had a family that were afterschooling history, so had to stick to the school program as well. We've been at it for 4 years and are halfway through SOTW3. I don't mind being on the slow boat, but this might bother others. ETA: Over the years we've replaced some of the suggested activities with those from 120 History Projects and with online suggestions. shehmeth
At Home: We use the Maps, coloring pages, the list of resources/books and guide questions... NOw, we are part of a "History Club" and the moms take turn doing a Chapter - we meet twice a month... and we do 1-3 of the activities listed for the chapter - depending on the chapter and if we're doing one chapter or two that day..
